Manchester United celebrate winning start to the season as Jose Mourinho's men mark Ander Herrera's birthday with 3-1 victory at Bournemouth

Manchester United couldn't have wished for a better start to their Premier League campaign, and Jose Mourinho's players understandably travelled home from their 3-1 win at Bournemouth in high spirits.

Goals from Juan Mata, captain Wayne Rooney and summer signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic secured victory at the Vitality Stadium, Adam Smith's second half strike for the home side a mere consolation.

It put United top of the table, their victory the perfect way for Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera to celebrate his 27th birthday. Herrera started the game on the south coast, playing the full 90 minutes and picking up a booking to boot, but posed for a number of pictures with his team-mates on United's return flight back to Manchester on Sunday evening.
