Alejandro Garnacho signed a new five-year contract at Manchester United on Saturday — hours after the club revealed that their rising star has been blocked from playing for Argentina at the Under 20 World Cup.
The teenage winger was about to enter the final year of his contract, but has committed his future to United until June 2028.
‘When I joined this incredible club, I dreamt of achieving my debut, playing at Old Trafford, scoring my first goal and winning trophies with this badge on my chest,’ said Garnacho, whose breakthrough season at United has been disrupted by the ankle ligament injury he sustained against Southampton on March 12.
