Luton 1-0 Newcastle: Andros Townsend's first-half header secures Hatters' third Premier League win of the season with the winger paying tribute to Tom Lockyer after his goal

Luton 1-0 Newcastle: Rob Edwards' side secured their third Premier League win of the season courtesy of a first-half goal from Andros Townsend

The visitors had the first real chance of the first half after Anthony Gordon found Callum Wilson unmarked with a cross into the box but the England international's header was well saved by Thomas Kaminski.

But it was Luton that would draw first blood at Kenilworth Road, as Townsend headed home from a corner before holding up a shirt baring Lockyer's name as he celebrated the opener.

Luton continued their momentum but were unable to double their advantage prior to the interval, with Ross Barkley coming closest as his strike crashed off the woodwork.
