Liverpool stars of yesteryear flock to Altrincham... to see Steven Gerrard's Under 18s take on Manchester United

Three big players from Liverpool's future turned out at Altrincham on a chilly Friday night to watch the club's next generation in action.

Steve McManaman and Rob Jones were on the sidelines at the J Davidson Stadium for the game against Manchester United, while Steven Gerrard took his place among the coaching staff on the bench.

Between them, the three ex-pros racked up 1,317 appearances for the Reds during their time at Anfield and as a result have plenty of knowledge to impart to those players bidding to follow in their footsteps.
