Wes Morgan has been ruled out of Leicester’s trip to Arsenal on Wednesday night after the defender suffered a hamstring problem in last week's Champions League exit to Atletico Madrid.
Islam Slimani also remains out through a groin injury while Nampalys Mendy was forced to undergo surgery on a long-standing ankle issue and will now miss the rest of the season.
Morgan only returned for the Atletico game after a month-long absence caused by a back nerve problem but Shakespeare is hopeful the club captain may return for Saturday’s trip to West Bromwich Albion.
