Former United States and Everton striker Landon Donovan has joined Swansea City in an advisory role for the club's new American owners.
The 34-year-old, who retired from professional football with LA Galaxy in 2014, has revealed that he held talks with owners Steve Kaplan and Jason Levien prior to their takeover over the club in June.
Donovan, who enjoyed two short spells in the Premier League with Everton, has been brought in to provide advice to the owners, based on his own experience of English football.

'The new owners met with me a few months back and said this is likely going to happen and admitted that they didn't know a lot about football,' he told NBC Sports.
