Kick It Out chief Tony Burnett backs Premier League stars' decision to stop taking the knee every game but insists 'issues haven't gone away' with 'a huge amount of work still to do'

In light of Premier League captains deciding not to take the knee in every game next season, Kick It Out chief executive Tony Burnett hopes the conversation around racism in the game remains.

Premier League captains decided that the gesture, which started in June 2020 in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, will now be used only on specific occasions which should prevent diluting the gesture and its message.

Burnett believes the players have done good work on the issue over the past couple of years and he supports their move as long as the problem of racism is kept on the agenda.
