Jurgen Klopp confirms Portugal star Diogo Jota will MISS the World Cup in Qatar after being taken off on a stretcher with a thigh injury during Liverpool's win over Manchester City

Jurgen Klopp has ruled Diogo Jota out of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after the 25-year-old was stretchered off the pitch during Liverpool's 1-0 win over City.

The Portugal international sustained the injury in the ninth minute of added time in the Premier League clash on Sunday afternoon.

Klopp has now confirmed that Jota will miss the showpiece tournament - which is due to start next month.
