Jose Mourinho set to deliver the FA an explanation over comments on referee Anthony Taylor's appointment for Liverpool clash

Jose Mourinho will give the Football Association an explanation behind comments he made over referee Anthony Taylor ahead of Manchester United’s trip to Liverpool.

The United manager claimed the Manchester-based official would find it ‘difficult’ to officiate the clash between the two rivals at Anfield on Monday night.

Taylor’s appointment had been questioned on Merseyside and beyond, given the proximity of his home to Old Trafford.

When asked before the match, a dour 0-0 draw, whether he believed Altrincham supporter Taylor had been placed under too much pressure the Portuguese said: ‘Somebody with intention is putting such a pressure on him.
