John Lennon-lookalike eco protester, 21, is jailed for six weeks for tying himself to the goalposts during Everton's Premier League match against Newcastle

A John Lennon-lookalike Just Stop Oil eco-fanatic who shamelessly disrupted Everton's Premier League clash against Newcastle by tying himself to the goalposts before he was dragged off the pitch by police has been jailed for six weeks.

Dorset-born student radical Louis McKechnie stormed the grounds at Goodison Park on March 17 wearing an orange Just Stop Oil T-shirt and attached himself by his neck to the goalpost using a metal-enforced zip tie in a 'reckless' and 'potentially very dangerous' climate change protest.

The 21-year-old activist, who has been arrested about 20 times, halted play for about 10 minutes before the stadium's staff prised him free with a huge pair of bolt cutters and hauled off the pitch by police to the sounds of boos and jeers from thousands of incensed football fans.
