John Brooks is appointed to VAR duty for Man City's Premier League game with Liverpool... just over a month since the blundering official was removed from the role after disallowing a Brighton goal when he incorrectly drew offside lines

Blundering VAR official John Brooks has been appointed to VAR duty for Man City's crunch clash with Liverpool - just over a month since he was removed from the role after making a 'significant' error.

Brooks was in charge of VAR for Brighton's trip to Crystal Palace in February and incorrectly disallowed Pervis Estupinan's first-half goal because he drew the offside lines from the wrong defender.

The line was drawn from James Tomkins rather than last man Marc Guehi, who was standing behind him. The goal would have stood had it been correctly drawn from Guehi instead.
