Jermaine Jenas: Referees' Association chief calls for apology from pundit over Rob Jones criticism

Football pundit Jermaine Jenas should apologise for criticising referee Rob Jones on social media, says the head of the Referees' Association.

Jenas used an abusive term on X, formerly Twitter, to describe Jones and added "they're [referees] all ruining our game" after Jones awarded Arsenal a penalty in Sunday's north London derby.

Referees' Association president Paul Field said he is "very disappointed" with Jenas' comment.

Field added: "It's this type of thing that makes a referees job much harder at grassroots. Mr Jenas has a responsibility to the game and we look forward to seeing an apology in the near future.
