'I couldn’t believe my eyes': Man City star Sergio Aguero says he wanted to play in the Premier League after watching former England star Michael Owen's legendary goal against Argentina as a 10-year-old

Manchester City star Sergio Aguero says Michael Owen made him want to play in the Premier League after his stunning goal against Argentina in the 1998 World Cup.

Aguero joined City in 2011 and became the highest scoring overseas player in Premier League history in January after eclipsing Thierry Henry's record of 175 goals.

But it was watching a scintillating 18-year-old Owen burst his way through the Argentina defence before hitting an effort into the top corner of the net that cemented his desire to play in England's top-flight.
