Hodgson hails Zaha-Townsend strike partnership despite Everton loss

Roy Hodgson has lauded the efforts of Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend, both of whom led the lines in Crystal Palace’s defeat to Everton on Sunday.

Late goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cenk Tosun gave the Toffees a 2-0 victory in the English Premier League tie; a result the English gaffer bemoaned.

Short of attacking options, Hodgson opted for Townsend to partner livewire Zaha - who was a huge doubt for the trip to Goodison Park - in attack.

Although both failed to fire the Eagles to end a three-game winless run in the league, their performances was regarded as satisfactory.
