Harry Kane is given a week to get over his World Cup heartache - and told to be back at Tottenham next Monday - with manager Antonio Conte planning talks to assess his mental state after his France penalty agony

Harry Kane has been given a week to overcome the heartache of his World Cup penalty miss as the England captain prepares himself for a return to domestic action.

Kane and his international team-mates returned home from Qatar on Sunday, the day after the quarter-final loss to France in which Kane missed a late spot kick to equalise.

The striker was visibly emotional after the final whistle - but Kane only has seven days to get over the disappointment with his return to Tottenham scheduled for Monday, December 19.
