Gary Lineker accused of 'never being right and never being funny' by Geoff Shreeves after joke about Jamie Carragher's suspension for spitting

Gary Lineker and Geoff Shreeves had a back-and-forth exchange on Twitter on Monday night as the Sky Sports reporter accused the BBC man of never being right and never being funny.

Lineker sparked the exchange by making a joke about Jamie Carragher, who has been suspended by Sky Sports after an incident in which he was filmed spitting at a Manchester United fan's car.

That meant Carragher was not involved in Sky Sports' coverage of Monday night's Premier League game between Manchester City and Stoke. He was scheduled to feature prior to his suspension.
