Supporters Direct, the club ownership vehicle for football fans, are involved in an unseemly split over financial support for a valued employee suffering from a terminal illness.
A group of former SD directors and trust members have started a ‘justiceforjac’ campaign to raise funds and highlight the plight of Jacqui Forster, the head of casework, who has been diagnosed with secondary cancer.
Forster, the organisation’s longest-serving staff member, will see her statutory sick pay entitlement expire next week, as per her contractual terms and conditions. Her backers believe Supporters Direct should continue to support her but this has not happened after a decision made at board level.
