France were shocked that Harry Kane took the second penalty on Saturday evening, as the England captain's resulting miss consigned England to a quarter-final defeat against their rivals.
French journalist Julien Laurens claimed that Les Bleus 'could not believe' Kane had stepped up to take the second spot-kick in the final minutes of the last eight clash, which he went on to blaze over the bar in Qatar.
Laurens points to a Champions League tie with German side Eintracht Frankfurt back in October, in which Kane took two penalties, scoring the first and firing the second over the top of the frame of the goal.
