Frank Lampard remains optimistic that expensive summer arrivals Timo Werner and Kai Havertz can still be a success at Chelsea.

The German pair did both score in Sunday's 4-0 FA Cup win over League Two side Morecambe to end goal droughts.

But more might reasonably have been expected of two players who cost Chelsea a combined £142million during the club's splurge of spending before the season.
