Former Celtic striker Harald Brattbakk insists Scottish champions would have to sell star forward Odsonne Edouard if £40m is offered... amid interest from Brendan Rodgers' Leicester City

Ex-Celtic forward Harald Brattbakk claimed on Monday night that Celtic would be compelled to sell Odsonne Edouard if a £40million bid is tabled.

Scotland’s Player of the Year after scoring 28 goals last season, the Frenchman bagged an opening day hat-trick against Hamilton on Sunday as Neil Lennon’s side cruised to a 5-1 win.

Under contract for another two years, Edouard has said that he’d happily remain on board as Celtic seek to win a record-breaking 10th successive title.

But with Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City weighing up a £40m offer for a player the Irishman brought to Glasgow for £9m from Paris Saint-Germain in 2018, former Celtic striker Brattbakk believes market forces could yet determine that the 22-year-old heads south before the extended transfer window closes on October 5.
