Football fans will be forced to show vaccine passports to enter stadiums from next week as Boris Johnson triggers 'Plan B' Covid restrictions, including jab checks at mass events

Premier League football clubs and all stadiums hosting sporting events will be forced by the government to demand fans show vaccine passports to attend matches, starting from next week.

Boris Johnson hit the panic button on Wednesday night by introducing the Government's 'Plan B' Covid restrictions amid growing fears about the Omicron strain: including a blanket order to work from home where possible, more mask-wearing and Covid passports.

Vaccine passports mean the Premier League will be told it is mandatory to ensure all their 20 clubs ask every supporter attending matches to show their vaccine certification.
