As Tottenham prepare for their Europa League second-leg tie against Wolfsberger on Wednesday, they may be spurred on by a brief reminder of former glory, with the north London club's last taste of silverware coming 13 years ago on this day in what was then known as the Carling Cup.

Having failed to win a trophy since the late 90s, Tottenham finally stepped up to the plate with a memorable win over a fearsome Chelsea side, with Jonathan Woodgate's iconic header in extra time sealing the victory.

Ironically, Tottenham's success came under the stewardship of Juande Ramos, who has since been branded as one of the most disappointing appointments of the Daniel Levy era.
