Ferguson pays tribute to 'little runt' Scholes at charity dinner

The 76-year-old spoke in public for the first time since thanking medical staff two months ago after he suffered a brain haemorrhage in May

Sir Alex Ferguson said Paul Scholes was a "little runt" when he joined Manchester United, speaking in a video message at a tribute dinner for his former player.

Ferguson had not made a public appearance in two months, last speaking to thank medical staff who treated him after he suffered a brain haemorrhage in May.

But, talking on video at a charity dinner in Scholes' honour, Ferguson was in jovial mood.
