FA to introduce version of Rooney Rule for national team jobs as they look to interview at least one BAME candidate

The FA want to interview at least one Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidate for national team jobs in the future.

They will emulate the NFL and their Rooney Rule, which means teams have to interview a diverse pool of candidates for coaching and management positions.

There is currently only one black manager of a Premier League team - Chris Hughton at Brighton.

There has never been a non-white manager of the England men's team, but the women's team was led into the 2007 and 2011 World Cup by Hope Powell, who is black.
