EXCLUSIVE: Socceroos legend Robbie Slater could be Australia's fittest 58-year-old as he shows off his incredibly cut physique after surgery - and reveals his training secrets

Socceroos great Robbie Slater is arguably Australia's fittest 58-year-old if a photo he posted on Twitter is any guide.

Currently recovering from tonsil surgery, the English Premier League winner with Blackburn Rovers in 1995 is in incredible shape, as he proved when he showcased his enviable physique on Tuesday.

'I train seven days a week, fitness is non-negotiable for me,' Slater told Daily Mail Australia.

'If I'm not at Fitness First Willoughby [on Sydney's north shore], I'm training at home.

'I also coach kids' football, so I think it is important to look good and provide an appropriate example.
