EXCLUSIVE: Gareth Southgate's England side are undecided on taking the knee at the World Cup in Qatar, after they did not do so for the first time in two years against Italy and Germany last month

Taking the knee at the World Cup retains significant support from inside the England camp, despite the players not doing it for the first time in two years before last month’s Nations League matches.

Not taking the knee for the matches against Italy and Germany came after 35 consecutive games at which they had.

It had largely gone under the radar given Premier League players decided to only do it on certain occasions this season.

The England players are currently undecided on taking the knee in Qatar next month

However, Sportsmail has learned that the matter was discussed by England’s leadership group — which includes Harry Kane, Jordan Henderson and Raheem Sterling — where it was decided they should follow the Premier League guidance on this occasion.
