Everton hero David Weir set to return to Goodison Park from Brighton in a player development role after holding talks with the Toffees over a comeback last week

Everton are expected to appoint former defender David Weir to their backroom staff after holding talks last week.

Weir, 51, has been working for Brighton as their loans manager and is due to return to Goodison in a player development role.

He made over 600 career appearances and played in the 1998 World Cup for Scotland.
