England's players could be STOPPED from featuring in this year's IPL after India introduced new visa restrictions on foreigners amid coronavirus crisis

The participation of England players at this year's Indian Premier League has been thrown into doubt due to fresh visa restrictions on foreigners entering the country due to coronavirus.

Sportsmail understands franchise owners remain confident that overseas signings will be permitted to join up as planned for the tournament that runs from March 29 to May 24.

However, earlier on Wednesday it appeared that a new Indian government directive was suspending all existing visas - barring a few select categories - for those travelling between March 13 to April 15.
