EFL bosses 'fear Championship breakaway with second-tier clubs angry at failure to secure bailout as chiefs hold secret talks with more than TEN clubs seeking bigger TV package'

EFL chiefs' fears of a Championship breakaway are growing after angry club bosses met over their failure to secure a bailout for struggling sides, reports claim.

Leading figures in English football's second tier held talks Tuesday to vent their fury at both the Premier League and EFL over a deal to help the pyramid survive amid the ongoing financial crisis posed by COVID-19, according to the Telegraph.

And some clubs are keen to 'get their ducks in a row' to make sure the EFL were aware of their frustrations at Thursday's meeting, the report says after the financial chaos caused by the pandemic.
