Edinson Cavani 'pays £1.3m to TERMINATE his Valencia contract' just a year after leaving Man United - as the veteran striker eyes a move to Boca Juniors the summer

Former Manchester United front man Edinson Cavani has agreed to terminate his Valencia contract with the view to joining Argentine giants Boca Juniors.

The 36-year-old penned a two-year contract with the La Liga side after leaving Old Trafford last summer but could only manage five league goals in a poor campaign.

The Uruguayan icon has therefore agreed to end his spell at the Mestalla early with the Spanish club announcing his departure in a Tweet on Saturday.

'Thank you for everything [Edinson Cavani],' it read. 'Mestalla and Valencia will always be your home.
