Dele Alli is just misunderstood, and can still hack it at the top level of football, according to one of his former managers.
Alli proved himself as a talented young player at Tottenham Hotspur, but has found his career struck by misfortune with poor spells at Everton, and most recently at Turkish club Besiktas, where he was banished from the first-team squad.
It has led some to question where the 26-year-old can go from here, with it looking like he will return to Everton for next season despite being unwanted by the Toffees.
