Crystal Palace set to offload out-of-favour striker Alexander Sorloth to Gent on loan

Crystal Palace are sending out-of-favour striker Alexander Sorloth to Belgian side Gent on loan, just a year after his £9million move to the Premier League.

The Norwegian striker has scored just one goal for Palace, in the Carabao Cup against Swansea, and his game-time this season has been severely limited.

The return of Connor Wickham to full fitness only pushes Sorloth further down the pecking order, and he is now heading for a short-term loan spell in Belgium.

Sorloth boarded a flight to Benidorm from Gatwick Airport on Tuesday morning, where he will meet up with his new team-mates during their winter training camp.
