Crystal Palace pitch invader who confronted Damien Delaney charged

The Crystal Palace fan who ran on to the pitch at Selhurst Park to confront players during their 4-0 defeat by Sunderland has been charged wiht two offences.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed after the game on February 4 that the pitch invader had been taken into custody under the under the 1991 Football (Offences) Act.

The Met released a statement on Sunday night confirming that the fan, Jack Coles, had been charged under that act, as well as with disorderly behaviour.

The statement said: 'Jack Coles, 23, of Southfield Road, Worthing was charged on Sunday with going onto the playing area at a designated football match, contrary to the Football Offences Act 1991.
