Christian Eriksen tests positive for Covid-19 and misses Brentford's defeat by Leicester... but is still expected to make his Denmark return in the international break

Christian Eriksen is still hoping to make his emotional return to action with Denmark this week despite missing Brentford’s defeat at Leicester after catching Covid-19.

The playmaker has not represented his country since he suffered a cardiac arrest during their Euro 2020 match against Finland in Copenhagen on June 12, 2021.

Yet both the Danish FA, and Brentford boss Thomas Frank, expressed optimism that Eriksen would be able to link up with the national side for friendlies against Holland and Serbia.
