Chelsea released just a 99-word statement announcing the shock exit of Enzo Maresca on New Year's Day.
Reports had emerged on New Year's Eve that the Italian could depart the club following a turbulent end to 2025.
Daily Mail Sport then explained how exit talks were being held and that there was a chance he may depart today, with the news confirmed shortly after midday.
In a statement, the club said: 'Chelsea Football Club and Head Coach Enzo Maresca have parted company.
'During his time at the club, Enzo led the team to success in the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
