Chelsea left 'frustrated' after sanctions 'stopped pursuit of Erling Haaland'

Chelsea are reportedly frustrated as sanctions placed against owner Roman Abramovich has hampered their plans of making a move for Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland.

The Blues are banned from signing players as part of the special licence which currently grants them permission to play games, after the Russian oligarch was sanctioned due to his ties with president Vladimir Putin, amid the country's ongoing war with Ukraine.

Haaland is currently Europe's most in-demand striker and has scored a staggering 85 goals in 87 games since joining the Bundesliga side in January 2020.
