Lyon have rejected Chelsea's request to recall Emerson Palmeiri from his loan spell, according to reports in France.
The Blues are desperate to secure cover at left-back after Ben Chilwell was ruled out for the rest of the season after Chelsea decided the ACL injury he sustained against Juventus last month needs surgery.
Italy international Palmeiri was deemed surplus to requirements in the summer and was allowed to join Ligue 1 side Lyon on a one-year loan deal in August.
However, L'Equipe via Get French Football News claim the Blues recently tried to bring the 27-year-old back from his spell early, only to see that request turned down by the French outfit.
