Carlo Ancelotti 'calls up Blackburn Rovers to recommend his former Everton assistant Duncan Ferguson' for their vacant manager role with the Real Madrid boss 'offering a glowing reference' to Ewood Park chiefs

Four-time Champions League winning manager Carlo Ancelotti has phoned Championship side Blackburn Rovers to tell them to consider Duncan Ferguson for their manager's job.

Ferguson was Ancelotti's assistant at Everton during the Italian's brief stay on Merseyside between December 2019 and June 2021, and Ancelotti sang his former partner's praises when speaking to Rovers.

According to The Sun, it is unclear if Ferguson would be interested in moving to Ewood Park, but his former counterpart gave a glowing recommendation of the Scot.
