Bukayo Saka withdraws from England squad for games against Australia and Italy over fitness concerns following talks between the FA and Arsenal

Bukayo Saka has withdrawn from the England squad following talks with Arsenal medics amid concerns over the forward's fitness.

Mail Sport reported last week that Saka was a doubt for the forthcoming internationals against Australia and Italy after sustaining hamstring and thigh problem in last week's loss at Lens.

The 22-year-old was still selected in the squad after Gareth Southgate said Saka was in contention for Arsenal's game versus Manchester City on Sunday.

Arsenal wanted Saka to miss the international break, regardless of his availability for Sunday's clash against Manchester City - a game the winger missed - so he could have a complete rest ahead of the clash against Chelsea on October 21.
