Bruno Fernandes has put talks over a new Manchester United contract on HOLD until May having turned down an offer last year as £100k-a-week Portuguese star seeks parity with the club's top earners Cristiano Ronaldo and David de Gea

Bruno Fernandes has put negotiations over a lucrative new contract at Manchester United on hold as the Portuguese star waits to see the direction the team is heading in.

Fernandes, who is believed to earn around £100,000-a-week at Old Trafford, is seeking parity with the club's biggest earners in his new deal to reflect his importance to the side.

Cristiano Ronaldo is United's largest earner, on over £400,000-a-week, and goalkeeper David de Gea isn't far behind on £375,000-a-week.
