Brendan Rodgers should have been fired 'a while ago' because Leicester have looked 'STALE,' claims pundit Robbie Mustoe - as he admits surprise by timing of cash-strapped club's decision

NBC Sports analyst Robbie Mustoe believes from a performance standpoint, recently sacked Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers should have been fired long ago.

Rodgers was sacked by the Premier League club Sunday morning imminently following a last-gasp loss at Crystal Palace amid six losses in seven across all competitions.

'I'm a little surprised because they're in financial fair play difficulties,' Mustoe said on NBC's Premier League coverage Saturday. 'They announced record losses after the last season, I think 92.5m pounds ($114m).

'So that's, you know, when you fire a manager, you got to pay him off.
