Premier League clubs have collectively agreed to remove gambling sponsors from the front of their shirts on matchdays, becoming the first major league to do so.

Eight of the 20 clubs currently in the Premier League have shirts featuring such sponsorships, with their removal set to begin following the 2025-26 season.

The decision has been made in order to reduce the exposure of gambling advertising, though shirts will still be allowed to feature sponsorships on sleeves.

A statement from the English top-flight reads: 'Premier League clubs have today collectively agreed to withdraw gambling sponsorship from the front of clubs’ matchday shirts, becoming the first sports league in the UK to take such a measure voluntarily in order to reduce gambling advertising.
