Blackburn 1-1 Luton: Hayden Carter rescues Rovers' play-off hopes with last-gasp equaliser as they move within two points of sixth place with one game to play... as Rob Edwards' side extend unbeaten run to 13 games

Blackburn prodded the dying embers of their promotion hopes and found a faint glow.

The odds remain stacked against Rovers snatching the final Championship play-off spot but Hayden Carter's first goal for the club at least kept hopes alive.

Rovers in ninth go to sixth-placed Millwall on the final afternoon next Monday two points behind. Sunderland and West Brom also have 66 points, but Rovers' negative goal difference is another handicap.

In short, a repeat of this fixture in the play-off semi-finals later this month is a long shot.

But in a finale of unexpected excitement after a largely profligate and lifeless performance, Rovers took a point when Carter headed in a Sorba Thomas corner on 86 minutes.
