Bill Shankly's grandson calls for statue of iconic former manager to be REMOVED from outside of Anfield after Liverpool's 'embarrassing' owners join European Super League and insists his grandfather would be 'spinning in his grave'

The grandson of Liverpool' most famous manager Bill Shankly has called for his grandfather's statue to be removed from outside of Anfield.

Chris Carline, 39, is reported to be 'appalled and embarrassed' by the actions of Liverpool's Fenway Sports Group owners, who are leading the charge to create a breakaway European Super League.

The news has rocked world football and received international criticism, as Liverpool along with five other Premier League teams look to embed themselves in a closed shop league which would all but abolish the Champions League and serve as a money-spinning endeavour.
