'BBC could show their first EVER English top-flight match if Premier League season resumes' as crunch talks continue on Monday in bid to show every remaining game on TV

The BBC could show their first ever top-flight English league game if the 2019-20 Premier League season resumes according to The Times.

The proposal, which is being discussed among the Premier League's shareholders, broadcasters and government officials, is designed to show many of the remaining 92 matches of the season on TV.

Of those 92 games, 47 have already been allocated for TV coverage and the plan is to give the remaining 45 to the main rights holder Sky, as well as BT Sport, Amazon and BBC.

The BBC, who produce the Match of The Day show hosted by Gary Lineker (pictured), could show their first ever top-flight English league game if the Premier League season resumes

If the plan is agreed to by all parties, it would be the first time the BBC has ever shown an English top-flight match live.
