Australian cricket players plunged into Covid-19 isolation as Indian Premier League is called off

Even more Australian cricket stars trapped in Covid-ravaged India have been forced into isolation after a third IPL player tested positive to the virus.

Ricky Ponting, Steve Smith and Marcus Stoinis are now in isolation in Delhi with their teammates, a day after Pat Cummins was put in quarantine after an outbreak in his team.

The Indian Premier League was suspended indefinitely on Tuesday after a third team was affected by a Covid-19 outbreak.

The IPL released a statement where it said it would work with player's home nations to get them home safely, but Australia has a total ban on flights from the nation.
