Arsene Wenger nearly signed Jadon Sancho and compares Tottenham's current squad with the Class of 92

Arsene Wenger has revealed he almost signed Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho when he was the manager of Arsenal.

The former Gunners boss, who left the club after 22 years in charge last season, also admitted that he sees similarities between Tottenham's current squad and Manchester United's famous Class of 92.

Speaking as a pundit for BeIN Sports, the Frenchman said he tried to sign Sancho when the youngster was seeking a move from Manchester City.

Wenger said: '(Sancho's) is an incredible story because the pressure now on these young boys from an early age is very big.
