Arsenal chief Gazidis leaves to join AC Milan

Arsenal have confirmed Ivan Gazidis is leaving his position as chief executive to join AC Milan.

The director had been linked with the Italian side for weeks before his departure was confirmed on Tuesday, as Gazidis wrote to fans: "It is the right time for me and for the club".

And the Gunners confirmed that Raul Sanllehi, taking over as head of football, and Vinai Venkatesham, who will now be the managing director, will run the London side in the wake of Gazidis' departure.

The 54-year-old will end his time at the Emirates Stadium in October before joining the new Milan board in December.
