Player agents are set to strike it rich by gaining record fees on the back of this summer’s transfer window ahead of FIFA’s introduction of new regulations that will limit their earnings.
Mail Sport has spoken to senior figures at several Premier League clubs who have been asked to pay agents 10 per cent of transfer fees agreed with other clubs in order to get deals done this summer, and players are being asked to hand over five per cent of their salary to intermediaries working on their behalf.
From October 1, both figures will be capped at three per cent by FIFA — but only on contracts agreed after that date, so many agents are determined to cash in while they can.
