Trail Blazers’ franchise 3PT record plants 3,800 trees in 2014-15

The Portland Trail Blazers, in partnership with Daimler Trucks and Friends of Trees, were responsible for the planting of 3,801 trees in the Sandy River Delta this year. The “Threes for trees” initiative that began on opening night of the 2014-15 NBA season meant that for each 3-pointer that the Trail Blazers sank during the regular season (807) three trees were planted, and for each 3-pointer that the Trail Blazers sank during the post season (46) 30 trees were planted.

The Trail Blazers’ 807 threes in the regular season set a franchise record. The previous record (770) was set in 2013-14.
